雲南有一道名菜（汽鍋雞），不僅味道驚艷，連烹飪專用的鍋具（陶器汽锅），都是動漫中出現的「神器」。 汽鍋的發明可追溯到清代乾隆年間。臨安府（今建水縣）福德居廚師楊瀝，綜合了當地吃火鍋和蒸饅頭的方法創造汽鍋雞。 1972年，美國總統尼克森訪華時，汽鍋雞躋身國宴，據說尼克森總統品嘗之後，称赞「味道太鮮美了」。 汽锅其实可以做很多美食，其中一个妙用——用汽锅制作米饭。
